The Fattoria dei Barbi 2017 Rosso di Montalcino was tasted blind earlier this year by a top panel of Decanter magazine reviewers, including a Master Sommelier, a Master of Wine, and one of Italy’s top wine writers. Here are their notes and scores.
Delicate nose of dried flowers with leafy, peppery notes. Ripe, chalky tannins with amazing length, full of vibrancy and persistence.
Blind tasted by Master Sommelier Nicolas Clerc (91 points), Aldo Fiordelli (92 points), and Master of Wine Susan Hulme (88 points).
Based on the scores and tasting note, the wine was included in the magazine’s fall round-up of “highly recommended wines” (print only).
