“4 Vines” for 2013 Brunello Vigna del Fiore, top score from the Italian Sommelier Association guide

We are thrilled to share the news that the Fattoria dei Barbi 2013 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore has received the top prize from the editors of Vitae, the Italian Sommelier Association’s guide to the wines of Italy.

The award will be presented next month in Milan together with the 2019 edition of the guide.

The Italian Sommelier Association (known as AIS) is a nationally based organization that promotes wine education across the country. Members of each regionally based chapter study and taste together as they work toward their sommelier certification.

If you’ve ever attended a formal tasting in Italy (like those held at Vinitaly, for example), you’ve probably seen AIS sommeliers volunteering to pour.

Winemaker Stefano Cinelli Colombini and the entire staff at Fattoria dei Barbi couldn’t be more pleased to receive this prestigious award from AIS, whose members play a fundamental and invaluable role in wine connoisseurship and appreciation in Italy.
