As in years past, the Fattoria dei Barbi will be participating this weekend in Cantine Aperte (Open Cellars), a weekend when wineries across Italy — 1,000s of them — open their doors to walk-in visitors.
On Saturday and Sunday, May 26-27, the winery and tasting room will stay open throughout the day, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.
And the cost of admission, including a tasting and a tour of the historic aging room and the Brunello Museum, is just 10 euros.
Please call or email to reserve (although walk-ins are also welcome): Tel. +39 0577 841111, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
The event is part of a nationwide campaign organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino (Italy’s national association for wine tourism).
But this year marks a truly special happening at Fattoria dei Barbi: This weekend, on the occasion of Cantine Aperte, Stefano will be debuting a collection of vintage photographs from the Cinelli Colombini’s private archive. These rare and never-before-seen images span the early decades of the 20th century to the post-World War II era. They depict life on the estate and in Montalcino as it was in the era before the Brunello boom, when Montalcino was still a farming community.
Don’t miss this extraordinary opportunity to view these wonderful photographs (original prints on paper) for the very first time!
