We poured our 2013 Brunello Vigna del Fiore this year at Benvenuto Brunello in Italy and North America. It’s the newest release from this historic vineyard in southern Montalcino.
But you’ll still find the 2011 on many wine lists and in many wine shops across the U.S. (The 2013 hasn’t shipped yet while the 2011 is still a “current” release in many areas.)
You can taste this wine, which received a whopping 95 points from Wine Spectator editor Bruce Sanderson, at this year’s Wine Spectator Grand Tour in Washington, D.C., New York, and Las Vegas (click here for dates and registration info).
Fattoria dei Barbi 2011 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore
95 points
Concentrated and intense, with macerated cherry and raspberry fruit, augmented by tobacco, iron and leather notes. Builds to a complex aftertaste of fruit, vegetal elements, mineral and spice. Terrific length.
