The Fattoria dei Barbi and the Montalcino Blog (by Barbi) would like to share our warm thanks with Francesca Planeta and the Planeta winery for including Fattoria dei Barbi’s wines in their Giro di Vite event last night in Milan (at Open Milano).
The Giro di Vite project (the title is a play on words, an allusion to the expression turn of the screw, where vite can mean screw or vine) features wines and winemakers paired with wines by Planeta and Francesca Planeta, one of the most acclaimed winemakers in the world today.
For the occasion, Francesca reached out to Barbi export director Raffaella Federzoni to represent the estate in a conversation on Nerello Mascalese (arguably Sicily’s most noble grape) and Sangiovese, the quintessential Italian red grape, used to make Rosso di Montalcino and Brunello di Montalcino.
