A packed house for Benvenuto Brunello in Houston


It was standing-room-only for the Benvenuto Brunello seminar and tasting yesterday in Houston (where the Fattoria dei Barbi English-language blogger lives).

That’s Master Sommelier Guy Stout (who also happens to work for Fattoria dei Barbi’s Texas distributor Southern-Glazers). The Consorzio del Brunello di Montalcino (the Montalcino grower and bottler association) asked him to present the seminar together with Consorzio president Giacomo Pondini.

While New York (the other stop on the Benvenuto Brunello tour this year) remains the number-one market in the U.S. for Brunello, Houston is quickly becoming one of the best cities for Brunello sales.

One of the producers who participated in the seminar noted that Texas has become one of the top states for Bruenllo sales. And Guy Stout noted that Houston has always been the top city for Brunello in Texas.

It was a great day for Brunello in Texas and it was wonderful to see so many talented wine professionals come out for the event.
