The grape harvest is here! And as it does every year, the Movimento del Turismo del Vino (Italy’s wine tourism association) is presenting a classic event that has involved millions of wine lovers across Italy for decades.
The Fattoria dei Barbi is participating this year by opening its doors free of charge to anyone who loves wine and country life in an event that celebrates and honors the soon-to-happen harvest.
Saturday, September 17, from 10 a.m until 8 p.m., you can spend a day among the vineyards teeming with Sangiovese with a special instructional and fun hike guided by Stefano Cinelli Colombini (from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., a group will leave every hour on the hour). Tours will include a visit to the ancient cellar and will be capped with a tasting (every half hour from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m.). The tours will be followed by a lunch or dinner at the Taverna dei Barbi with the option of choosing between a buffet of classic dishes for 18 euros and wines by-the-glass (Brusco for €3, Brunello for €6, and Brunello Riserva for €10) or a tasting menu at €38 with dishes inspired by the harvest and paired with the wines.
We are looking forward to seeing you and sharing the colors, aromas, and flavors of the harvest in Brunello’s fatherland.
