A note from Stefano on the recent cold weather in Europe…
Time for spring frost?
I just got a couple of jackets out of mothballs but for the moment there’s only been rain in Montalcino and no snow or frost.
And we needed the rain. The vines are budding wonderfully (and with a uniformity we’ve never seen before). And they are thirsty.
After such a mild winter, we expected to see an explosion in the insect population but it never materialized.
We are just at the beginning of the vegetative cycle but things are looking great.
