A nice set of reviews from WineAlign for the 2010 Brunello plus more…

A very elegant Brunello in a traditional style. Ethereal in feel with great length and persistence of flavours on the palate. Beautifully balanced with fine oak and lovely fruit spice. Tannins are dusty and well-ripened. Very fragrant, just slightly oxidative with leathery cherry and strawberry. Best 2016-2022.  90 Points

Quite approachable for the normally firm and hands off in its youth Barbi. Always with a foot firmly rooted in the past and yet the house seems to be slowly waltzing into the modernity of the future. This has hallmark roses and cherries under leathery hides but also a beautifully bright and dynamic luminescence. It also carries a silky texture that should have it pause less than the habitual five years to fully shine. So, a newer and earlier gifting Sangiovese and that’s quite alright. Drink 2017-2023. 91 Points

This is pours pale garnet-orange – the sign of a fully evolved wine – despite it being just 2010. Long ageing in barrel is the reason for the acceleration. It has complex, well woven aromas of currant/cherry fruit, herbs, leather, cedar and vanilla – classic Brunello aromatics. It is medium-full bodied, nicely smooth with a warm, dry fine-tannined finish. The length is very good to excellent. 91 Points

A fullish, firm, savoury, supple and elegant old school Brunello here from Barbi in the great 2010 vintage, with suave, silky texture and good to very good length. A fine and elegant wine, drinking now or hold mid-term. Tasted January 2016. Value Rating: *1/2  91 Points

The highly-rated 2010 vintage is on display here. A splendid nose of cedar, black plum and tobacco precede a delightful wash of dried berry fruit, wisps of iodine and mineral tones along with excellent tang. It’s a medium-bodied, satin-smooth beauty showcasing depth, complexity and deft balance throughout. It finishes dry and mouth-watering with good tension. A drinking window of 2018 to 2025 is forecasted.
