Fattoria dei Barbi owner Stefano Cinelli Colombini (below) visited New York City last week to pour his wines at the Wine Spectator “New York Wine Experience” weekend, a sold-out wine festival that brings together the best wineries and winemakers in the world.
In order to be invited to this exclusive gathering, the winery must have received a 90-points or more score from the magazine’s editors.
In the June issue of the magazine, senior editor Bruce Sanderson awarded the Fattoria dei Barbi 2010 Brunello di Montalcino Vigna del Fiore 92 points:
Fattoria dei Barbi 2010 Brunello di Montalcino
Broad and savory, with licorice, leather and tobacco flavors. Mulled cherry notes lurk in the background, while beefy tannins come to the fore on the lingering finish. Best from 2019 through 2033.
While in the Big Apple, Stefano also took time out to visit the offices of his importer Frederick Wildman, where he led a seminar and tasting for the upper management and national and Tri-State sales teams.
Aaaaaa… Autumn in New York! It was a great time to visit the city, arguably the best place in the U.S. to taste and drink Italian wine.
Heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out to taste with Stefano and his team. It was so great to see the response to the wines and hear tasters’ impressions.
And extra special thanks to the team at Frederick Wildman for their warm welcome and for hosting the seminar. It was wonderful to share our passion with your staff!
